Hi,
I’m Jan McDonald, the author of the Mike Travis Paranormal Investigations. I live close to the Welsh borders which have their own mystical quality and provide endless resources in the way of legends and folklore surrounding the paranormal. I love all things paranormal and have loved reading the best, Dennis Wheatley, Stephen King (his early work) Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, H.P. Lovecraft and all those authors that excel in the creepy or down-right scary.

When I embarked on the Mike Travis series I realised that the field of paranormal investigation is more than we see on the popular TV programmes and above all else I wanted to be accurate and so I trained as a Paranormal Investigator and studied parapsychology. I love researching my books, so this was no chore. I’m also the author of the Father Beckett Vampire Trilogy (Part One: Midnight Wine and Part Two: Lycan). The research for this series was fun and entailed a journey to Transylvania with The London Vampire group!

  1. O M G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! through tears and hand clamped over my mouth I finished it (Midnight Wine) – I was completely “in” it the whole way through, tears, laughter, suspense, the whole lot…………….. Crosmoor Curse, here I come!

  2. Just finished “Crowsmoor Curse”. Gripped from the outset and did not disappoint at the end. Longtime fan of Dennis Wheatley so right up my street. Ready to start “Midnight Wine” even as I compose this. Thank Bill for tipping me off about your work. Good luck with any further projects…I’ll be looking out for the next book!

    1. Hi Allen, Thank you for your much appreciated comments. Hope you enjoy Midnight Wine as much. Lycan will be available on Amazon kindle in May and I’m working on the sequel to Crowsmoor Curse at the moment. Thank you for purchasing my books.

  3. Hi Jan
Thoroughly enjoyed Midnight Wine, again gripped from the outset. I like the pace your stories move at, no lapses mid way like a lot of authors in this genre. Downloaded Lycan this week and will start it post haste. See you soon

  4. Downloaded Lycan for kindle yesterday and thankfully read up on you prior to starting it so purchased midnight wine today and will read that first. My first foray into vampire novels so looking forward to it.
